Alamo did not have cars available at the time of my arrival, and did not honor the reservation. They did not offer any other explanation, alternative solution, or compensation. I was not able to rent a car with any other agency in the last minute and my travel plans were disrupted. Do not trust Alamo to honor reservations. They seem to use a first come first serve system. Very dissapointed. Unreliable. I do not recommend.

The experience with avis was in general ok. What it was not ok was the experience with Kayak.com selling me a car they never had. I was supposed to get a suv 7 passagers and 5 bags and I got a totally different car for the price of a 7 passagers car. Not ok.

There has to better directions to get to the place. It is pretty hard to find. And pick up and drop off timing need to be improved upon. It tooks us 1 hour to take the car out of the place and 20 minutes to return it. Worst experience I have ever had. Also, it took us 30 minutes to find the guy, we had to ask the people near the airport as the address given was wrong.

Beware of the following. In Bogota and Medellin there are days your car cannot go out. But you will be charged anyways. The agency will not tell you about it. You MUST request a hybrid car to avoid this issue. Green cars may be out every day. Also in Colombia you have to pay for washing the car once you return it.

This was the worse experience.. I will never use Kayak again. I rented a car from National in Santa Marta; Colombia. What they did not tell me is Santa Marta has restrictions based on the last digit of the license plate so I could not drive the car on the third day I was there which was the day I had to return the car to airport. And they had only one car so I had to come back a day early and use taxis on final day.

There is not a physical office to pick-up the car. The address referenced was a empty place. I had to call the provided phone to know how is the pick-up procedure. Will be better if there is a note in the pick-up instructions to inform that you need to call to make the pick-up arrangements. The drop-off is the same, you need to call to make arrangements to drop-off the car.
