When I got at the airport the car rental company told me that there computer was down due technical issues, but they directed me to Zurich City without reimbursing me for the over €100 the price of the taxi 🚕 They provided me an upgraded model of the car, Mercedes instead of Renault, but I ended up paying double of the original rental price🤦‍♂️

This was a Chinese car. This was marketed as a VW Golf or similar car. It was about as far away from it as imaginable - comfort, engine, transmission, etc. Sixt should explain or notify when Made in China cars are going to be rented. Personnel was friendly and car and facilities were clean.

Easy drop off could use more attendants when picking up there was a long line.

The pickup was quick with the usual contract review and paperwork. Accessing the car was very easy. Drop off was also very easy.

Problems, problems, problems. I reserved the car, as I do in almost all of our trips, but we wanted my husband to be the driver, as we ALWAYS do. This presented countless problem at the Hertz counter at the pickup in Zurich airport. We finally arranged to have my husband listed as the driver instead of me but then when he dropped it off, (I was already elsewhere in the airport), the discussion started all over again and they wanted to charge him almost $200 for a second driver when I never once drove the car. Poor communication. I will never rent again with this combo Kayak and Hertz.

I rented a Toyota Landcruiser and got a Volvo XC60 and the lady at Herz said they were the same size.

We were never pressurized to take out extra insurance since we were covered with our credit card, which was great The lady who helped us was quick and assured us our credit card insurance was enough. It’s. When we returned the car, we told them we had made a little scrape right at the bottom, they took pictures and said we should claim from our credit card, but they were going to charge us €940,. At first we accepted it , and then said a scratch like that cost $940, the guy said, no, you dented the door as well. We absolutely did not dent the door.. Comparing that door to the other side door they were both the same , so I got into an argument about the door. Another assistant came along who also compared both doors and said no there was no dent, the other guy was wrong, so from €940 we suddenly only owed 400.- no apologies just crooked business as usual. This is always what people complain about with car rental agencies. They try and rip you off with dents and scratches that you never made….. always take pictures and check their little drawings of where the damages are when you collect the car. This always adds another 30 minutes onto your car rental. We had the same experience in Italy with another car rental company. Wonderful people they are.!!!!

They didn’t have the car I wanted and I got lumbered with a much bigger people carrier that was hard to manoeuvre up mountain roads.
